King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in the U.S on Monday for their 4-day state visit. The tension between the U.S and the U.K has been evident in recent months, and Queen Camilla decided to send a clear message to President Donald Trump. She displayed it with a \u2018careefully planned\u2019 piece of clothing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Donald Trump has always been a huge fan of the British Royal Family. In September last year, he and First Lady Melania Trump visited the U.K., and during a speech, the president praised the relationship between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe word \u2018special\u2019 does not begin to do it justice,\u201d Donald Trump said of the relationship between the United States and Britain. \u201cWe\u2019re like two notes in one chord, or two verses of the same poem \u2013 each beautiful on its own, but really meant to be played together.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, since then, everything has changed. The U.S President\u2019s tone has become more hostile towards the U.K, not least because of the Iran war. Trump called Prime Minister Kier Starmer a \u201closer\u201d as he didn\u2019t want to assist the U.S. military in the war in Iran, adding that Starmer was \u201cno Churchill.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moreover, Donald Trump even compared Starmer to Neville Chamberlain, a leader who had praised Hitler. Trump said Britain was no longer \u201cthe Rolls-Royce of allies,\u201d taunting the Royal Navy aircraft carriers as toys.\u201d Earlier this month, when asked about the relationship between the countries, Trump responded, \u201cNot good, not good at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regaining the good relationship between the United States and Britain has always been a matter of diplomacy. Therefore, the fact that King Charles and Queen Camilla have embarked on a 4-day state visit to the U.S is of great importance back home.<\/p>\n

The hope is that the king and queen will help mend the relationship between the two countries, and perhaps King Charles will do just that on Tuesday. Per the\u00a0BBC<\/a>, the monarch is set to address Congress, saying, \u201cTime and again, our two countries have always found ways to come together\u201d as he will call for \u201creconciliation and renewal\u201d between the U.S and the UK.<\/p>\n

While the Royal Family never speaks about politics, Queen Camilla decided to make a statement about her view of the country\u2019s relationship with the United States: a brooch.<\/p>\n

Grant Harrold, who worked for the Royal Family between 20024 and 2011, stated that the brooch, which was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II by a New York mayor, shows two flags, the U.K.\u2019s Union Jack and the U.S. Star Spangled Banner, joined together. Per\u00a0Unilad<\/a>, Harrold stated that the king and queen\u2019s agenda is unity \u2013 and that Queen Camilla\u2019s choice of wearing the brooch sends a strong message to Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the decision not just to wear it on the first day of the trip, but from the moment they step on to US soil is key,\u201d the former royal aide said. \u201cIt shows from the off, they are there for diplomacy. Donald and Melania Trump will notice it, and they will appreciate it. I have no doubt it will be a discussion point at their private meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWearing a brooch from the vaults is also a clever way to remind Trump about the past, as well as the future.
