The White House quietly removed a song from an ICE deportation video after Swedish pop star Zara Larsson called out the administration for using her music without permission.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On September 16, the White House\u2019s official TikTok account posted a video showing ICE agents detaining and handcuffing people. The caption was \u201cNever ending deportations\u201d and the song playing in the background of the clip was Zara Larsson\u2019s 2026 hit \u201cMidnight Sun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Larsson was not pleased. She soon posted a video reply on her own TikTok<\/a>, opening with an \u201cL\u201d gesture.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just sad. My heart is heavy seeing that,\u201d she said and continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish I could speak to whoever made that video. I wish I could help you remember that you and I, we aren\u2019t that different at all. And we\u2019re not that different from the people in the video, either.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also took issue with the specific choice of her song.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so crazy how everything is so meme-ified, especially \u2018Midnight Sun,\u2019 which is about feeling connected to nature, the universe, and people, and this just creates this massive divide between people,\u201d she said, before calling those responsible \u201csuch f***ing losers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The White House quietly removed song from video<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The song has since been removed from the post, while the video itself is still up on the account.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Larsson\u2019s music has ended up in White House content she didn\u2019t agree with. Earlier this year her 2015 song \u201cLush Life\u201d was used in a video of Trump dancing, paired with the text \u201cWE LOVE ICE and our law enforcement!\u201d<\/p>\n

Larsson made it very clear where she stood the issue: \u201cI love immigrants, I love criminals, I love trans people, I love abortions, I love queers, I love slutty women, I love contraception, I love welfare, I love socialism, I f***ing hate ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other artists have also publicly criticized the White House for using their music in similar immigration-enforcement content. SZA previously called the administration \u201cevil\u201d and accused it of \u201crage-baiting\u201d musicians after her own song appeared in a video promoting ICE raids.<\/p>\n
