Dolly Parton\u2019s estate has filed for a restraining order against her nephew Bryan Seaver. He is accused of making violent threats and vowing to damage Parton\u2019s legacy after being fired from his longtime role as her head of security.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following the death of Dolly Parton<\/a> on August 25, her estate has taken legal action against her nephew, Bryan Seaver. He had served as her head of security for more than 20 years and was the one who publicly announced her passing.<\/p>\n

According to the estate\u2019s filing, Seaver was terinated from his role earlier this month.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s Alive, LLC, which manages Parton\u2019s estate, claims he became \u201cemboldened\u201d after her death and has since made a series of threatening statements toward the estate and her employees.<\/p>\n

Allegations of threats before and after Parton\u2019s death<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to the filing, Seaver\u2019s conduct reportedly began before Parton even passed away. People reported that he threatened, in writing, to \u201cdestroy the entire brand,\u201d and told Parton\u2019s entertainment attorney, \u201cI\u2019m not an entertainment person. I\u2019m a killer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additional alleged texts<\/a> include lines like, \u201cAll I do is warfare\u2026 Everyone needs to be worried about what I might do,\u201d and, \u201cI only own swords and guns,\u201d reportedly followed by a vow of vengeance against \u201canyone that has ever betrayed my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The filing also claims Seaver threatened to launch a podcast aimed at damaging Parton\u2019s brand partnerships unless he was paid, and that he made threats of real-world violence toward staff, advisors, and business partners connected to her estate.<\/p>\n

According to the filing, \u201cWithout relief, Defendants\u2019 calculated campaign will continue to inflict fear, to destabilize SAL\u2019s operations, and to cause further irreparable harm.\u201d<\/p>\n

A temporary restraining order was granted on September 22.<\/p>\n

Seaver\u2019s response<\/strong> to the restraining orders<\/h2>\n

Seaver himself pushed back on the characterization of his messages.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing in this lawsuit were threats and most of the comments I stand by,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was talking frankly in a private way with Danny who I thought was my friend and he fancies himself a gangster. A lot of these messages are two guys having rage talk and crying on the phone together while we were grieving.\u201d<\/p>\n

When his firing was first reported, Seaver and his team said they were \u201cdismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions\u201d taken since Parton\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,\u201d they said, adding that Seaver remains \u201cunshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seaver\u2019s termination letter, obtained by TMZ<\/a>, clarified that while his employment ended, his standing in Parton\u2019s trust hasn\u2019t changed.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease note that this termination is not a termination of your personal interest in the Trust,\u201d the letter read. \u201cThe Co-Trustees will be in contact with you (and the other beneficiaries) in the near future regarding your interest as a beneficiary of the Trust.\u201d<\/p>\n
