Just when you thought Donald Trump might be turning a corner in his treatment of Joe Biden the POTUS has served up a reminder of his ruthless (and at times bizarre) approach to dealing with political rivals past and present.<\/p>\n

Last month, Biden\u2019s office revealed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. The saddening update prompted an outpouring of support, and even Donald Trump had an uncharacteristically measured response to the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cMelania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden\u2019s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,\u201d the president wrote on social media at the time.<\/p>\n

Yet mere weeks later, it appears that the well housing Trump\u2019s sympathies has run dry.<\/p>\n

On Saturday night, Trump reposted a baseless (and, again, bizarre) claim on his social media platform, Truth Social, that Biden had been executed in 2020 and replaced with clones or robots.<\/p>\n

The original post, coming courtesy of an anonymous Truth Social usual, suggested that former president Biden had been replaced with \u201cclones, doubles\u201d and \u201crobotic engineered soulless mindless entities.\u201d

\nDespite the fact that it flies in the face of reason and logic \u2013 and of course is supported by no evidence whatsoever \u2013 Trump decided to share the link with his almost 10 million followers, void of any context or explanation.<\/p>\n

And he didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n

In a scathing rant intended to promote further division at a time when political unity in the US hangs by a perilously thin thread, Trump took aim at Biden\u2019s administration, labeling the appropriate parties \u201cscum\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Memorial Day to all,\u201d the president began on Truth Social.<\/p>\n

\u201cIncluding the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped radical left minds, who allowed 21,000,000 million people to illegally enter our country, many of them being criminals and the mentally insane, through an open border that only an incompetent president would approve, and through judges who are on a mission to keep murderers, drug dealers, rapists, gang members, and released prisoners from all over the world, in our country so they can rob, murder, and rape again \u2013 all protected by these USA hating judges who suffer from an ideology that is sick, and very dangerous for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharing unfounded conspiracy theories isn\u2019t new territory for Trump and his followers, it should be noted, even if the idea of Biden having been replaced by a clone or robot is particularly outlandish.<\/p>\n

Few need reminding of the zealousness with which the POTUS has doggedly argued his position that the 2020 presidential election was \u2018stolen\u2019 from him \u2013 a stance he continues to defend to this day \u2013 while he also went on record (before eventually backtracking) alleging that former president Barack Obama wasn\u2019t born in the US.<\/p>\n

And of course who could forget Trump raving during the 2024 presidential campaign that Haitian immigrants were \u201ceating the pets\u201d of US citizens?<\/p>\n

Not us, in any case.<\/p>\n
