At just 18 years old and 17 weeks pregnant,\u00a0<strong>Brianna Rawlings<\/strong>\u00a0was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive blood cancer \u2014 NK cell leukemia. Her early symptoms were mistaken as pregnancy-related.<\/p>\n<p>Faced with an impossible choice, Brianna chose\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0to start treatment in order to give her unborn baby a chance at life. Sadly, after contracting a blood infection, doctors performed an emergency C-section. Her son\u00a0<strong>Kyden<\/strong>\u00a0was born three months early and passed away after just 12 days.<\/p>\n<p>Brianna treasured every moment with him, calling those days the\u00a0<strong>best of her life<\/strong>. Though she fought hard to survive, her health worsened. A bone marrow transplant was canceled, and a costly trial drug was tried \u2014 but after only two treatments, the cancer claimed her life on\u00a0<strong>December 29, 2018<\/strong>, shortly after her 19th birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Her story is one of\u00a0<strong>unimaginable love, sacrifice, and courage<\/strong>.
