In his personal life, he tends to be private, adheres to a strict regimen, steers clear of technology, and embraces a lifestyle filled with simple routines.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And try not to grin when you spot this \u201980s heartthrob \u2014 who, believe it or not, has reached the age of 65!<\/strong><\/p>\n

James Spader embodies sophistication, is a laid-back individual, and an outstanding actor. Throughout the years, this Hollywood icon has demonstrated how to manage curiosity, insincerity, and rudeness with poise, grace, and integrity.<\/p>\n

As one admirer once expressed: \u201cJames Spader is the only actor who can make me laugh and feel cherished simultaneously through his roles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born in Boston to educators, he chose to carve out his own journey instead of adhering to the family\u2019s academic aspirations (both of his sisters became teachers).<\/p>\n

Yoga played a significant role in Spader\u2019s life, as it was the place where he first met Victoria Kheel, a certified yoga instructor. What started as a friendship eventually blossomed into romance, and after nearly a decade together, they tied the knot and welcomed two sons.<\/p>\n

Spader\u2019s first major role was in the 1981 romantic drama Endless Love, where he portrayed Brooke Shields\u2019s brother. He gained broader recognition in 1986 as the wealthy and arrogant playboy Steff in the classic \u201880s film Pretty in Pink.<\/p>\n

However, unlike friends like Robert Downey Jr. and Eric Stoltz, who fully embraced the decade\u2019s extravagant lifestyle, he chose to remain on the periphery, focusing on his craft and family rather than the temptations of fame.<\/p>\n

In a Playboy interview, when questioned about whether women ever approached him in public, the 1980s heartthrob responded, \u201cNot particularly. I\u2019ve been quite successful at maintaining a private persona, even in public.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cIf you\u2019re well-known and want to attract people in public, you can certainly do that. I don\u2019t. When individuals share their lives publicly, it creates a sense of familiarity through the media. I make an effort not to expose my private life in a public manner.\u201d<\/p>\n

His reluctance to engage with technology illustrates his detachment from the limelight. Spader once mentioned that he doesn\u2019t possess a computer or any contemporary gadgets.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Spader has been open about a constant part of his life: obsessive-compulsive disorder. \u201cI\u2019m obsessive-compulsive,\u201d he revealed in a 2014 interview. \u201cI have very, very strong obsessive-compulsive issues. I\u2019m very particular.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2004, James and Victoria ended their marriage. Shortly after, the actor started a discreet, long-term relationship with actress and sculptor Leslie Stefanson. The two even appeared together in the sci-fi thriller Alien Hunter, which revolves around the discovery of a mysterious alien black box in the South Pole, where a government agency is conducting secret botanical experiments.<\/p>\n

The couple lives in New York City and welcomed their son Nathaneal Spader in 2008.<\/p>\n

James on fatherhood later in life<\/h2>\n

James has been candid about becoming a father later in life. In a 2012 interview on Anderson, the actor reflected on becoming a father for the third time at nearly 50, admitting he had no reservations about having another child. He mentioned that the only noticeable difference this time was that he was \u201cslower.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, he reminisced, \u201cMy youngest son, my 12-year-old, we\u2019d go out and line up beer cans on the big rock out on the far end of the garden and shoot at them with BB guns.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarding one of the most recent public photos of Spader, it actually goes back to 2023 \u2014 when he was seen on the set of The Blacklist in New York on February 16, 2023.<\/p>\n
