A devastating house explosion in Defiance, Missouri, claimed the lives of brothers Julian Keiser, 4, and Jamison Keiser, 6, on Friday morning. The boys were home with their family while schools were closed because of extreme weather. Their mother, Evelyn Turpiano, and grandparents, Jennifer and Vern Ham, escaped the burning home, but firefighters could not reach the children in time.
The tragedy left the community heartbroken, with neighbors remembering the boys as kind and joyful children who loved school. The home was completely destroyed, and the Hoffmann Family of Companies expressed condolences. A community fundraiser organized to support the family has raised more than $145,000 for funeral expenses and rebuilding.
