She Had the Entire Audience in Shock 😱🔥

Dennis Quaid has taken legal action to end the child support payments he currently makes to his former wife, Kimberly Buffington.

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE reveal that on Wednesday, May 20, the 72-year-old actor, known for his role in *The Substance*, submitted a petition requesting the termination of his monthly child support obligation of $13,750 for the couple’s 18-year-old twins after they complete high school.

In his filing, Quaid pointed to the provisions outlined in the pair’s 2018 divorce agreement. According to the terms of that settlement, child support payments can be discontinued once a child finishes 12th grade, provided the child is still under the age of 19 and enrolled as a full-time high school student, or when any of the other specified conditions for termination are met, whichever happens first.

The actor argues that the circumstances described in the agreement have now been satisfied, as both of the twins are expected to graduate from high school during May and June of this year.

Dennis Quaid has formally petitioned the court to bring an end to the monthly child support payments he has been making to his ex-wife.

According to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, the actor filed the request on May 20, seeking to stop the $13,750 monthly payments he pays to Kimberly Buffington for their 18-year-old twins once they graduate from high school.

As part of the filing, Quaid cited language from their 2018 divorce settlement, which states that his support obligations may terminate when a child completes the 12th grade while still under 19 years old and attending high school full time, or when one of the other conditions listed in the agreement occurs, whichever comes first.

With both twins scheduled to graduate this year, one in May and the other in June, Quaid contends that the requirements outlined in the divorce agreement have been met and that his child support payments should therefore come to an end.
