The comments poured in.
Some users were genuinely stunned by the similarity, while others immediately turned the resemblance into jokes and memes.
“For a moment I thought it was JLo lmao,” one person wrote.
“There’s a glitch in the matrix lol,” another user commented.
A third person took the comparison even further, writing, “Omg. Get a DNA test. There’s no way that’s NOT JLo. For real. If it’s NOT…and I was Hollywood or anywhere else I would totally rent her at a discounted JLo rate for sure.”
Another commenter joked that Quast should have been making money from the resemblance instead.
“She should be charged twice for not being smart enough to use her likeness raking in money being a Lopez impersonator or a stand-in,” the user wrote. “The similarity is insane.”
As the photograph continued making its way around social media, Quast’s alleged shoplifting case became almost secondary to the celebrity comparison.
‘Jenny from the D-Block’
Naturally, once people noticed the resemblance to Jennifer Lopez, it did not take long for Lopez’s music to become part of the jokes.
Social media users began referencing the singer’s famous 2002 hit, “Jenny from the Block,” turning the song title into a series of punchlines about Quast’s arrest.

“In prison she’s known as Jenny from D-Block!” one person joked.
“Jenny been walking the block too much,” another added.
“She’s definitely still Jenny from the block,” a third user wrote.
The jokes quickly spread alongside the mugshot, giving the story a bizarre second life online.
Jennifer Lopez has spent decades as one of the most recognizable figures in entertainment, building a career as a singer, actress, dancer and performer. Her distinctive appearance has also made her one of the easiest celebrities for people to recognize.
That made the apparent resemblance in Quast’s booking photo even more surprising to social media users.
While the two women are not known to be related, commenters were quick to speculate jokingly about a possible connection, with some saying the resemblance was too strong to ignore.
The arrest was not her first encounter with police
Behind the viral jokes, however, Quast’s arrest was part of a longer history of encounters with law enforcement.
According to the Daily Mail, Quast was released the day after her August 30 arrest.
Records reportedly show that the Minnesota woman has previously been arrested over allegations involving drug possession, driving while intoxicated, fleeing from police and providing false identification. Records also indicate several previous traffic-related offenses.
The latest arrest, involving the alleged theft of the power-tool batteries, once again put Quast in the spotlight—but this time for a reason few people could have predicted.
Her booking photograph spread far beyond the original incident, with users repeatedly sharing the image and pointing out what they described as an extraordinary resemblance to Lopez.
What began as a routine police booking photo therefore became an internet talking point almost overnight.
For many people online, the biggest surprise was not the alleged theft itself, but the fact that a woman appearing in a Minnesota mugshot could suddenly have social media users asking the same question:

Is that Jennifer Lopez?
The answer, of course, is no. But judging by the reactions online, the resemblance was enough to make thousands of people do a double take.
