Having sought safety in Germany, a remarkable group of gifted children from Ukraine embarked on an extraordinary journey.

The Color Music Choir, a group of passionate young singers, captured hearts worldwide with their heartfelt rendition of ‘Something Just Like This,’ a popular song celebrating love, simplicity, and the essence of being human.

Color Music Choir is more than just a typical children’s choir. Hailing from Ukraine, this remarkable ensemble of young vocalists is celebrated for their flawless harmonies and heartfelt performances. They take well-known songs and turn them into enchanting choral works.

When they sing, it’s hard to imagine the heartache these young individuals – ranging from 4 to 18 years old – have faced. The choir expressed on Facebook, “The war has altered so much – our lives, our opportunities, and our creative outlets. Over the last 2.5 years, the Color Music Choir has evolved significantly.

Now, we are a group of strong refugee children from Ukraine who have found safety in Germany, starting anew and rebuilding our lives in a new environment. Color Music is dedicated to restoring what was lost in Ukraine, creating a warm and secure space for our young singers, many of whom have suffered unimaginable hardships. Through the power of music, we offer them a pathway to heal, grow, and dream once more.”

Children of war

The children, who have faced the challenges of war, displacement, and loss, are eager to share their voices to spread hope and joy to all who hear them. Their resilience, bright smiles, and unwavering determination to persevere in the face of adversity inspire us all. The ideal song to convey their uplifting message of inspiration and ‘peace for Ukraine’ is the 2017 hit ‘Something Just Like This’ by Coldplay and the Chainsmokers.
