They often say that birds of a feather flock together, and I believe we have all witnessed this in our lives in one way or another. It certainly appears that it is easier to connect with someone who shares your interests and values.
There’s another saying that sometimes fits perfectly, which refers to strange bedfellows. This is the opposite of birds of a feather, and under the right circumstances, it can work out quite well.
Recently, we came across a story online about pets that grew up in neighboring homes and developed a fondness for each other. The most fascinating aspect of this tale is that one was a dog and the other was a cat.
Each day, they would gaze out their windows and watch each other from across the yard. It became a routine they seemed to cherish, but sadly, the cat’s owner did something that disrupted their bond.
Potted plants were placed on the windowsill where the cat loved to perch, blocking the dog’s view of his beloved. It seemed like this would mark the end of their love story, but the plot thickens even further.

The dog was feeling down because he couldn’t see the cat, and the owner noticed what was happening. She approached the neighbor’s window and affixed a note that was truly heart-wrenching.
lives next door with me) is completely smitten with your cat… and has been for about 6 months! Three times a day, he rests his paws on our railing to catch a glimpse of him/her in your windowsill. Now that you have potted plants there, he is utterly heartbroken… yet he continues to search for your cat every time. Perhaps your plants could be moved to a different window??!
-From your neighbor and her loving dog”

When the cat owner discovered the note, she rearranged the potted plants and left a note of her own that read, “For True Love!”
At last, they could see one another, and now they spend their days gazing longingly across the yard at their cherished ones.
